We currently operate this website using the WordPress.org blogging system. With MidPhase, if you are interested in hosting your first blog, whatever topic, MidPhase is an awesome choice.

MidPhase is a Fantastico host. All shared hosting plans include Fantastico even though it isn’t currently mentioned on their site. I had an email conversaion with Matt Berry who is a technical support manager at MidPhase who confirmed that Fantastico is included. We’ll include this conversation in the support section of this site in a followup post.

What is Fantastico De Luxe?

Fantastico De Luxe is the leading autoinstaller for cPanel servers. Fantastico offers easy one click access to setup your Wordpress blog. But without this, you’ll have to download the latest version from Wordpress.org. From there, you’ll need to upload that zip file to MidPhase via FTP then login to cPanel, then click File Manager, then find the file, then extract it from within the File Manager.

Sound hard? Well yes, if you are new, its a learning curve. Did we mention, once you do the above, your only half way done? You’ll need to setup your MySQL database from cPanel, setup a MySQL user, then add that user to the MySQL database. Oh yeah, then you need to configure wp-config.php to show Wordpress all of the above data.
