Customer reviews are the main source of information for the users to know more about the hosting plans. They trust these reviews as they are believed to have come from experienced users. When users feel that a web hosting company is ready to serve them at a reasonable rate, they go after their offers and benefits and finally get their web site hosted with them.
MidPhase has proved to be successful with their plans and this is shown in the results with a high number of customers. MidPhase is introducing new promotional advantages for the users with an aim to keep them stick to their web site. This is done with a business mentality, but it is the users who are taking advantage from this.
MidPhase speed tests are conducted with efficient tools to evaluate their server performance as seen from the part of the users. The results are displayed in the web sites and the users can take this to make a comparison. Speed tests are conducted every month as there can be slight differences in the values over the months.
MidPhase has an uptime that can come to around 100%. This means that there are not much instances where the server cannot work for the users. A low downtime is usually noted from the company even though there were downtimes higher than 0%. But it is only less in number.
MidPhase uptime is coupled with the cases like a low response time less than .5 sec. the server response was faster and quick as compared with other similar plans. This is yet another reason for the better speed test results.
Customer reviews have proved that users are surprised with the way in which MidPhase is serving the end users. Their support team is working with full heart to clear all the confusion from the part of the users. They can approach the team at any time to get proper guidance in using the MidPhase hosting plans.

From our testing results for MidPhase server uptime, we found we had three major outages for the month of November. Two of the outages lasted over 30 minutes and one lasted over an hour.

Here is the daily results:

As you can see from the above results, the three outages we highlighted are:
MidPhase Outage November 10th for 35 minutes
MidPhase Outage November 15th for 1 hour
MidPhase Outage November 17th for 30 minutes
The total uptime was 99.67%. Keep in mind, during this month, we had a 5 minute resolution set for the majority of the month. Therefore, the 99.67% was the minimum actual uptime and was most likely greater.
Let’s take a look at our MidPhase status updates and see what happened.
November 10th MidPhase Status Report:
We are currently experiencing problems with one of our Upstream Providers. Our IP Engineering department is in contact with them as of this time and are working to resolve the issue.
Potential Impact: You may see slower loading times, or possible timeouts to your server. This is *NOT* A global issue and does not affect all customers. As more information is available, we will be updating this ticket.
November 15th MidPhase Status Report:
Nothing reported…
November 17th MidPhase Status Report:
We regret to inform you that we have are currently having some minor environmental efficiency problems in our Chicago facility. This has resulted in a small portion of our network being down. Technicians are diagnosing the problem and are working on returning service as soon as possible. There is no ETA as of yet, but we will update you when it is determined.
We will update you with more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your patience.
Please Reference: About MidPhase Speed Tests
This reference has important information on how our MidPhase tests are performed. These results are based on full page load requests to a test 10K file used throughout our network for accurate reporting. All uptime percentages are based on a 1 minute ping resolution which is the highest setting possible.
The testing performed here is funded independantly by the site owner. The equipment and network required to operate these tests costs an incredible amount of money for us to maintain. If we helped you reach your web hosting decision, we would be greatful if you purchased your hosting plan through our links here. Without viewer support, this resource wouldn’t exist. Thank you.

Let’s take a look at how MidPhase was for October when looking at their uptime.

Each and every dip you see on the graph above represents a period of downtime we have experienced while hosting at MidPhase.
Let’s take another look at a previously posted image for the total uptime percentages and daily statistics.

Remember, during this period from October 1st through October 31st, we had our ping times set to ping and load the main page every 5 minutes. Therefore, if MidPhase was offline for 5 seconds, we’ll still show 5 minutes on our reports.
MidPhase was offline on:
October 5th, 1 Hour 25 Minutes
October 8th, 5 minutes
October 10th, 50 minutes
October 23rd, 5 minutes
October 26th, 1 hour 20 minutes
Above, I highlighted the major outages. Apparently MidPhase struggled a bit to keep us online for October. It looks like there were a couple days in November so far that were a problem as well, but nothing serious like full day outages (or even longer than 1 hour).
Overall, we’d like to see our uptimes improve. We have graded MidPhase a B for uptime in October.
This reference has important information on how our MidPhase tests are performed. We do not just send a tiny ping, these reports are from full page loads of this site’s main page.

Overall, we are very satisfied with the results of our MidPhase web hosting service we have this website on.
We started monitoring MidPhase on September 9th, 2007 with requests being sent once every five minutes. These requests load the full page then respond back with time it took to load the page.
Our service also monitors MidPhase from servers all over the world. We will start reporting uptimes and response times specifics from all US and non-US servers as well as an overall report of all servers combined.
For this month, MidPhase, from the 9th of Sept through the end of September, had a service interruption five times. Here is a graph of the uptimes experienced:

As you can see, from these reports, MidPhase obviously had problems when we first started monitoring them, however, since then, we have experienced excellent stability. Here is a full breakdown, day by day, of outages and service response times from all servers including non-US ones.

As you can see, based on our 5 minute testing, MidPhase had our site available to the internet 99.09% of the time with a total of 4 hours and 30 minutes of downtime. Remember though, we only send tests once every 5 minutes, so they may have only been down 30 seconds during one test, and it still counts as 5 minutes.
Overall, we are happy to see MidPhase online at least 99% of the time. If you see our HostNine Outage Report, you’ll quickly understand how hard that 99% is!
Good job MidPhase. You get an 8 out of 10 for your uptimes in September.
More reports coming for September….

On this MidPhase server, we will be posting full unedited stats on server uptime, downtime, and response times.
Regarding Uptime, we have our pinging 3rd party company hitting this site once every 5 minutes. Therefore, if the server is down for only 5 seconds and the ping servers we use happens to send a ping at that time, it will count for 5 minutes of downtime.
Therefore, it is important to note that, although we may show stats lower than 99% uptime, they may have been up for that long. We could change this to 1 minute but we feel the bandwidth used from this type of testing would be extreme.
Also note that our testing company is sending pings from all over the world, not just from where we are located. Therefore, average ping response times will include very long distance ping requests. We’ll accurately report these speeds by splitting up US pings to non-US pings and then finally, a total overall combined score.
